Approach

Jessica places a strong emphasis on developing a relationship that allows clients to feel safe to express themselves openly and honestly. She knows there is value in hearing each person’s story and offering a non-judgmental space for clients to reflect. She believes in promoting clients’ strengths and their capacity to have agency in their lives and focuses on providing practical coping skills and strategies to assist this. She sees therapy as a collaborative process between client and therapist.

Jessica’s approach is integrative, flexible, and tailored to the life experiences and circumstances of each individual client. She believes that the way we see ourselves and the way we treat ourselves contribute to how we experience the world, that by understanding these we can effect change in all aspects of our lives.

Jessica’s clinical practice draws on different evidence based modalities including, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Psychodynamic Therapy, and a Trauma Informed Approach.

Finding the Right Fit

Content Mind recognises that finding the right therapist is one of the most important aspects of therapy. Research has shown the relationship between client and therapist is one of the strongest predictors of treatment outcomes. Finding the right ‘fit’ can also feel elusive to many clients. Part of Jessica’s process for new clients is to have a 10 minute phone call prior to any sessions to assess the client’s needs and if her style and approach will ‘fit’ the client.

There’s no commitment, pressure, or obligation.
